Recently, I have found that my Damask style patterns have been very popular. I love making them because the graceful and flowing patterns make just about any type of project look beautiful and elegant. Besides that – they are a lot of fun to cut!
I have included two sizes of the pattern here for your convenience. Naturally, the larger size would be a little easier than the smaller, and would be the best place for a newer scroller to attempt. But I tried to keep the inside cuts to a minimum, and the swirly designs are very forgiving if you happen to go off the line just a little or miss a point or edge. I think the results will still be nice, and they will be great tools for learning and improving your skills.
I have also included two ways to finish the ornaments, so you can do so in a way that suits your taste. You can oil them and add some beautiful crystal rhinestone embellishments if you wish, or paint them using fun DecoArt Weathered Wood Crackle and acrylic paint for an entirely different look. Or personalize them any way you wish.
I hope you enjoy this pattern and I hope it helps you stretch your scroll sawing abilities and builds your confidence on the scroll saw.
