You’ll find these little layered scatter bowls to be a fast and easy project that will find many uses. You can use the bowls to hold any type of decoration – from candy to some pretty autumn gourds. They use small pieces of wood, so they are great for using up scraps of pretty hardwood that you have laying around your shop. They are also great for selling at craft shows and fairs, as the don’t take a great deal of time to make.
The pattern includes ALL THREE leaf designs – oak, maple and birch – along with full instructions for cutting and optional finishing using Decoart Media Fluid Acrylic paints. I love this new line of paints because they are water-based (which means no smelly odor and easy clean up), semi-transparent, and very highly pigmented. That means no chalky look when they are dry. They are permanent when dried and I think that they look fabulous on wood. You can apply sheer coats which allow the grain of the wood to show through beautifully, or add more layers for more coverage. I think you will really like them!
