Unlike our other wildlife napkin holder patterns, this design uses an overlay layer for the bee. You can choose to stain the bee piece, or use a contrasting wood if you prefer a natural look.

For the backer, you can use a veneer or a 1/8″ thick plywood which you could paint in a color that goes with your decor. The pattern also includes a round plaque version that is 6.25″ diameter, but you could enlarge that to make it easier to cut. This is an intermediate level scroll saw pattern

If you plan to make the napkin holder with a laser engraver, you will have to take it upon yourself and get creative with wood choices and assembly since ~1/2″ thick wood is needed for sturdiness.
