This little scroll saw box is quick and easy to make, and can be used in a variety of ways. It makes the perfect candy dish sitting on a cocktail or dining room table, or you can fill it with candy, mints or even a gift card to give as a present to someone who has ‘everything’.
This design in layers using smaller scraps of wood. This is a great way to use up those smaller pieces laying around your shop! Because of the easy construction, slight differences in thicknesses of the wood are inconsequential, and add to the interest and beauty of the design. I also liked using my thin hardwood pieces as an overlay on the box lids, which made them fun and easy to cut.
As a bonus, I included two matching ornaments with each box pattern. One ornament displays the year, making it a cherished keepsake, and the other is the plain scrolled pattern, making it timeless. All numerals are included in the pattern so you can use the pattern year after year too!
We have two other Christmas box patterns in this style as well as a discounted set that includes all three in the product links below.
