While the process of decoupage has been around for quite some time, it is probably something that you may have not considered as part of woodworking or scroll sawing. But with the popularity and availability of so many types of beautiful paper which is used for scrap booking, as well as the ease of being able to purchase and download designs right from the internet, we have a world of wonderful possibilities right at our fingertips!
While there are many fun shapes of paper punches that you can purchase from your local scrap book store, they can be very expensive and take up lots of space. Why not use your scroll saw along with some beautifully printed card stock to create an endless array or pretty ornaments for use in decorating? I found this process to be both fun and easy using the new Decoupage Matte sealer-glue-finish from DecoArt.
Whether you are a painter or not – I am sure that you will have a great time creating these beautiful shapes and applying them to a wide array of other crafts projects as well. They are great for those who do shows and sell finished items, and they are even wonderful introduce children to the process of crafting. (Wouldn’t they be great for a group of kids to make at a small birthday party?)
