This songbird themed wildlife shelf scroll saw pattern is a great project that is both decorative and functional. You can choose to put a backer behind the portrait itself, or behind the whole width of the shelf. Line work is included for both options. The piece along the back edge of the shelf is also optional.
The main piece also includes two holes spaced at 16 inches apart to make it easy for you to mount the shelf using two nails that you can put in all the way to the wall studs if you wish, to ensure that they are sturdy. Unlike with our smaller shelves, the brackets for this project are notched into the main piece and shelf rather than using screws to attach them. You could choose to skip those cuts and use screws instead if you prefer.
– about 17″ wide x 8″ tall x 6″ deep
