Although a little more detailed than many of our other napkin holders, this monarch butterfly design is still relatively quick and easy to cut. You can make it with a veneer backer as I did, or you could to use 1/8″ thick plywood and paint it in a color that goes with your decor. The round version is 6.25″ in diameter, but you can easily enlarge that to any size you like which would also make it easier to cut. This is a relatively easy pattern to make on the scroll saw but may be a bit tough for an absolute beginner.
If you plan to make the napkin holder with a laser engraver, you will have to take it upon yourself and get creative with wood choices and assembly since ~1/2″ thick wood is needed for sturdiness.
