You will find several uses for these cute and easy little dishes. You can use them in your bathroom, filled with soap or cotton balls, or to hold your rings or jewelry while you are washing. You could also use them in any sea life themed room as a candy dish or even to keep your loose keys or change. They scroll up quickly and would even make a cute gift for friends and family.
In this pattern, I have included some simple staining instruction if you wish to add some color to your dishes. I used ash in the examples, and stained it with some wonderful, soft colors using DecoArt Americana acrylic paints and DecoArt’s Staining and Antiquing Medium. The medium is a gel that mixes with any acrylic paint to turn it into a semi-transparent stain that allows the wood grain to show through, yet gives a hint of color. It is available wherever acrylic paints are sold or you can get it online at www.decoart.com. I hope you give it a try.
