This whimsical plaque takes the bevel-cut technique use on all of our self-framing patterns one step further. The face of “Green Man” is cut in the opposite direction as the inner oval which allows the leaves to be pushed out giving them a raised appearance while the main oval is recessed back in the frame. The sample was stained using DecoArt Staining and Antiquing Medium mixed with acrylic paint which is readily available at most crafts stores. You could also choose to or you can leave it natural if you prefer. The design is fairly simple, but the bevel cutting is not very forgiving so this is an intermediate level scroll saw pattern.
