This is our second set of North-American songbird mini-plaques. Surely you can spot some of these in your neighborhood. These can be made with or without the attached name plates. If you prefer them without the names, you’ll be left with a simple oval frame. The backer, of course, is also optional, so if you don’t want to use one you can add the small hanging hoop (as shown in the second sample photo) in order to hang them with a nail or string.
Although these are quite quick to cut, the lettering and some of the details are a bit challenging but should you choose to avoid the lettering and/or enlarge the pattern to a full-sized plaque, the project could be cut even by a relative novice on the scroll saw.
This pattern includes a Robin, tufted titmouse, house wren, red-headed woodpecker, house sparrow, and a ruby-throated hummingbird. We have another matching set in the related products below.
