Horses are always a popular choice for a project. These running wild horses would make a wonderful addition to your kitchen. You can make this napkin holder with a veneer backer as shown in the sample pictures, or you could to use 1/8″ thick plywood and paint it in a color that goes with your decor. The round version is 6.25″ in diameter, but you can easily enlarge that to any size you like which would also make it easier to cut. This is a relatively easy pattern to make on the scroll saw but might be tough for a beginner.

If you plan to make the napkin holder with a laser engraver, you will have to take it upon yourself and get creative with wood choices and assembly since ~1/2″ thick wood is needed for sturdiness.
